Thrive With Us
Phoenix Yoga is the third incarnation of a Studio founded in 2012 by Krysia Maciuszko, Ph.D. on the principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a form of Yoga established circa 1948 in Mysore India by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Known to his students as “Guruji” or “dear teacher,” Jois and his associates crafted several intense, gymnastic series to challenge even the most adept practitioner.
In 2018, serial entrepreneur Rick Klimek purchased the studio and created C6 Yoga, changing the focus from Ashtanga to Hot Power Yoga. He and his family invested significantly in studio infrastructure, marketing and remodeling. The business was growing significantly when COVID-19 struck. C6 went 100% virtual within 24 hours and remained so for the next year. The quick pivot saved the business, but family commitments motivated Rick to sell the studio. In September 2020, Darci Sanders, yogini, educator, botanist and, most recently, farmer, purchased the assets of C6 and created Phoenix Yoga (from the “ashes” of the previous iterations). But, that’s just the metaphor, we learned. Blending the challenging, alignment-focused practices of Krysia Energy Yoga with the business model of C6, Phoenix Yoga is open for business!
Phoenix offers classes for all experience levels; from the first class through the ten thousandth, we have something for you here. Our Yoga faculty are trained in a variety of traditions, from contemporary Vinyasa to traditional Ashtanga. We blend three elements into each class:
Alignment - We help you align your body to not only challenge it, but also protect it.
Breath – The breath powers our practice, helps us focus and sets the rhythm for our Vinyasa
Fun – Asana practice should be fun. We’ll help you loosen up and truly enjoy your time with us. And just as importantly, we hope you will join our community.
