Led by Master Healer, Maayaa Ji, this will be a rare opportunity to be with Maayaa in the US. Maayaa is the founder of Maayaa International Healing School in India, and we are grateful for this opportunity to have her at Phoenix Yoga.

Become more sustainable today!

 

Make an aromatic mat spray with anti-germ qualities! Witch hazel and tea tree oil form the disinfecting team and essential oils add the aromatherapy! We will have a selection of scents available so that you can personalize your mat spray. We will also provide the reusable glass spray bottle and a quick-drying, washable microfiber cloth. 

 

Once your mat spray is done, we’ll gather for a slow, thoughtful yoga flow as we consider the philosophical aspects of yoga that call us to care for our planet.

YOGA NIDRA WORKSHOP Aug 2024.png

YOGA NIDRA WORKSHOP - Details:

 

SATURDAY, August 24, 2024 – 12:00 - 1:30 PM

 

Yoga Nidra is a simple and accessible form of meditation designed for modern day living. Backed by extensive research, yoga nidra can help people navigate all of life’s challenges and enhance one’s sense of well-being and peace. Yoga Nidra offers tools to help you manage stress and feel better in your body and mind.

Open to all levels. Yoga nidra is usually practiced lying down on a mat with bolsters and blankets, however it is possible to practice seated in a chair.

Benefits to participants can include:

  • Reduced depression, fear and anxiety

  • Reduced insomnia and levels of stress

  • Reduced chronic and acute pain

  • Greater ability to relax and enjoy life

  • Improved interpersonal relations

  • Increased inner peace and well-being

This workshop will begin with a brief discussion and individual development of a sankalpa for the practice. A sankalpa is often defined as an intention or resolution. For this yoga nidra, the sankalpa will consist of 3 components and it can be useful to consider these prior to the start of the meditation. Next, we will move into a gentle practice of movement and breathing to prepare the body for stillness. This movement will not be strenuous and is adaptable to all levels. Finally, participants will be guided through a yoga nidra that will last about 45 minutes.

Participants are encouraged to bring 1-2 blankets from home and an eye pillow, if desired.
